On March 21st Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion was released in to stores and after playing it for a week this is my initial review of the game. I can not and never will give the final review because the game is too big and I will never finish it. Simply the game is like Morrowind (the predecessor) mixed with crack cocaine. It has everything the previous game has but done way better. For starts the game is twice the size of the last and way more detailed.
I am getting ahead of my self, I forgot about all those people out there that have never heard of Oblivion or Morrowind. It is a computer game that takes place in a fantasy kingdom were you can do what ever you want (within reason this is a game so you actual have to go fight monsters and save the day or not). You create a character from 10 different races and customize is looks and skill and after the starting tutorial dungeon you can go and do anything you want. Some of the things you can do are join a guild, steal from random people, go on a quest to save the empire, clear out one of 200 dungeons, become a assassin, go horseback ridding through lush forests, visit one of 9 major cities or countless other settlements, or even journey to Oblivion (hell) itself.
Unlike Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games this game focuses on you being the hero, after a week of playing people now call me the hero of kvatch (a town I saved form Oblivion). Unlike Morrowind the quests are not some simple go find said item and return; they involve unique and interesting stories with multiple objectives to complete, nothing is as simple as it seams.
The game is the most stunningly beautiful game out there which is one of the reasons I cant wait to finish upgrading my computer. I have finished painting the case and have installed the motherboard and power supply. Some time this week I will have the cpu and video card as well. When I am finished I will post some pictures and test results.
Oblivion has shattered my plans to do any other work for next little while. You are luck to get this post as I must get back to Oblivion. As for a review score I will give it 98% where it losses some points is for a couple of bugs. If there are any questions about the game ask me in the forum.
